Leonard O. Stilwell, age 79, of Slaughters, KY, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2020, at Select Specialty Hospital.
Leonard was born May 13, 1941, in Evansville, IN, to the late John and Novella (Cotton) Stilwell. He was a graduate of North High School and served in the United States Air Force, being honorably discharged in 1963. Leonard retired as a Sergeant in the Evansville Police Department after 39 years. He retired with his wife, Margaret, in 2004. His true passion was the outdoors.
Leonard always said, “Life is wonderful…enjoy each and every day.” Mr. Stilwell truly loved the outdoors and engaged in many days of hunting and fishing with family and friends.
Leonard is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Margaret (Zackery Stallins) Stilwell; his son and daughter-in-law, John Cody and Andrea Stilwell; two stepdaughters, Tiffany Stallins (Mike Williams) and Stephanie Stallins (Dan Martin); three grandchildren, Clay and Chloe Henshaw and Blaine Underwood; sister and brother-in-law, Beverly & Stan Tooley; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 28, 2020, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Kris Holzmeyer officiating. Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time, Thursday, May 28, 2020, at BOONE FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL.
