Lestie Pauline (Dunn) Maple

Lestie Pauline (Dunn) Maple, age 86, of Newburgh, IN, passed away at 5:50 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at Newburgh Healthcare.

Pauline was born December 22, 1936, in Calhoun, KY, to Cecil and Anna Belle (Evans) Dunn. She was a very active member of Vann Avenue Baptist Church. Pauline worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for St. Mary’s Hospital for over 15 years and later worked for Health South for 7 years before retiring. Nursing was her passion. She enjoyed using herbal medicines and loved to combine modern medicine with herbal remedies. Pauline loved to laugh and make others laugh, and she enjoyed gardening in her free time. She especially loved and doted on her grandchildren.

Pauline is survived by her daughter, Debra Ward Griffin (Shawn); son, Dwayne Maple (Mona); sisters, Lorene Penticuff (Gordon) and Donna Lile (David); brother, Glenn Dunn; grandchildren, Ryan Grisham (Sabyn), Brandon Grisham, Brittany Marshall (Matt), Brooklyn Maple, and Lee Ward (Taylor); and many great grandchildren.

Pauline is preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Anna Belle Dunn; husband, Phillip H. Maple; and siblings, Melvin Dunn, Jewel Dunn, Calvin Dunn, and Joyce Dunn.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 23, 2023, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Steve Clayton officiating and a walk-through performed by the Southern Indiana Nurse’s Honor Guard.

Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until service time, Sunday, April 23, 2023, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 24, 2023, at Park Lawn Cemetery, Evansville, IN.
