Linda L. (Baker) Datin, age 78, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 8 a.m. on Monday, July 9, 2018, at St. Vincent Evansville.
Linda was born November 6, 1939, in Washington, IN, to Leo & Helen (Allen) Baker. She graduated from Washington Catholic High School, in 1958, and then Vincennes University with a RN degree. She worked at St. Mary’s Hospital for 25 years. Linda was a member of the Daughters of American Revolution, World Church Food Pantry, Prayer Chain, and former Eucharistic Minister. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading and collecting Precious Moments. Linda was an avid IU Basketball and Cardinals fan.
She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Stephen L. Datin, daughter, Lori A. Alexander, of Evansville, sons, Jeffery A. Datin, of Tacoma, WA, and William A. Datin, of Evansville; grandchildren, Sarah, Jason, James Datin, Colleen and Stephen Alexander; great grandchildren, Corwin Datin and Benjamin Marsh; and brother, Fred (Pat) Baker, of Washington, IN.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 12, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 613 Cherry St, Evansville, IN 47713 with Father Benny Chacko officiating. Entombment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of Mass at the church.
Friends may visit from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at BOONE FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville. A Memorial Service will be held following visitation at 7 p.m.
