Linda A. Hoosier, age 66, of Evansville, IN passed away Sunday, February 23, 2025 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital.
Linda was born April 22, 1958 in Evansville, to the late Elmore, Jr. and Ollie Virginia (Garrett) Hoosier. She graduated from Bosse High School in 1976 as the class Valedictorian and member of the National Honor Society. Linda attended Lockyear Business College and then transferred to Ivy Tech where she received her Associate’s of Science in Accounting in 1990. She worked at Bristol Myers-Squibb for over 10 years in the accounts payable department and then worked for Maddenco Software Development for 13 years. In 2004, she started Hoosier Tax Prep which she owned for 20 years. Linda was an avid reader, and especially loved mystery novels. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, watching mysteries, British television, and hosting soirees. She loved spending time with her family.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Amber Tinner; son, Adrien Horne (Rogina); sisters, Sheryl Hoosier, Sondra Hoosier and Elnora Hoosier; grandchildren, Adrianna, Jessalyn, A.J., Aedyn, and Alyviah; nieces and nephews, La Shanta, Seneca, Jarrocco, and Sancheza; great nieces and nephews, Jeffrey II, Clemmie, Johnelle, Damen Jr., Samiyah, and Zayven; aunt, Gayle Garrett; and a host of cousins and friends.
Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 3, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville, IN 47715.
