Linda Faye (Feist) Thompson

April 30, 1954 ~ August 11, 2022 (age 68)

Linda Faye (Feist) Thompson, age 68, of Newburgh, IN was a devoted and loving Mother, Wife, Grandmother, Daughter, Sister, and Friend. After a long and courageous battle with cancer, she went peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Thursday, August 11, 2022, at home with family by her side.

Linda was born April 30, 1954, in Evansville, IN, to Rachelle (Winstead) Gaines. She graduated from Harrison High School in 1973. Linda worked as a dental assistant and financial manager and spent her career highly dedicated to dental and patient care. Dr. William Hart was not only a cherished friend but a valued mentor throughout her career.

Linda and Rex fell in love when she became The Bossmen’s biggest fan. They have been married for 45 glorious years. They loved to travel and her favorite place was on the beach lounging in the sun. FL was the place year after year. Had to keep those tans going. Cocktails and seafood. Cruises to the Caribbean, NYC, Bermuda, Mexico, the list goes on. Skiing down the slopes in CO. Fall festival was always fun with the kids. Countless years of boating the Ohio River and surrounding lakes. Man, she could really trailer that boat no matter how heavy the current was.

Feta Meta Neta weekend getaways with her high school girlfriends to IL wineries, dude ranch, and the like. Linda has many great friends who shared the love of life and great times. Her laughter was infectious. The Mustangs were a force to be reckoned with. She was a talented artist that enjoyed crafts with the grandchildren. She could do anything around the house. A Linda of all trades. Her ability to keep the ball rolling was truly impressive and inspiring. For 20 years, she found the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat playing poker with her all-girl poker group.

Her heart was complete when she gave birth to her 2 wonderful children. She led her family with a passionate heart and they were her greatest achievement. Linda once again found herself
rejoicing with the arrival of her 2 grandchildren, Addison and Owen. She dedicated the last 12 years of her life to being their Gigi.

In 2018, Linda began battling cancer and fought so hard for almost 4 years. She carried herself with grace and exuded courage. Her presence could light up a room and her smile was memorable. She exhibited strength and will always be remembered for her unwavering faith.

We will forever keep her in our hearts. Linda forever!

Linda is survived by her Devoted Husband, Rex Thompson; Daughter, Robin Arnold; Son, Randall Thompson; Loving Father, Gerald Rossi (Polly); Sister, Laura Markiewicz (Keo); Brother, Mike Feist; Brother, Michael Rossi (Stephanie); Grandchildren, Addison & Owen Arnold; and Beloved Dog, Lexi.
