Linnie M. Kiegel, age 87, of Evansville, IN, passed away on Monday, November 8, 2021, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital.
Linnie was born in Greenville, KY, to Lelian and Edrie Scott. She graduated from Graham High School in 1952. Linnie was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Daylight, IN. She enjoyed gardening and yardwork. Linnie loved camping and traveling with friends. She traveled to Hawaii, Alaska, Nova Scotia and Mexico, and has traveled to every state in the USA. Her favorite camping adventures were at the Great Smokey Mountains. Linnie volunteered her time at the Texas Citrus Fiesta office and the Rio Grande Regional Hospital for many years. Linnie loved being a homemaker and mother.
Linnie is survived by her husband of 19 years, Edward Kiegel; daughters; Debra Nelson and Penny Farmer; sisters, Laura Brewer, Monita Sammet (Ollie), Pat Scott and Portia Bee (Richard); brothers, Henry Scott and Jerry Scott (Janie); 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 3 step children; and several other extended family members.
Linnie is preceded in death by her parents, Lelian and Edrie Scott; first husband of 42 years, Noah “Red” Farmer in 1995; and son, Bruce Farmer in 2001.
Services and will be held Friday, November 12, 2021 at Oak Hill Mausoleum Chapel of Memory I, 1400 E Virginia St, Evansville, IN. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. with a service at 2:00 p.m. immediately following.
