Linus Henry “Peanuts” Koressel, age 84, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 11:05 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital.
Linus was born August 17, 1940, in Evansville, IN, to Leo and Matilda Koressel. He attended Mater Dei High School and graduated from North High School. He was a member of Townsend Bible Church. He worked for Alcoa, K-Mart, and the Warrick County School Corporation. Linus enjoyed bowling many days a week and was a talented musician. He could play the piano and guitar, and he was working on the violin.
Linus is survived by his children, Kelli Robinson; Kevin Koressel (Tasha Jossa), and Kerry Koressel (Kristi); brothers, Joe Koressel and Fr. Jim Koressel; sisters, Margaret Will and Helen Klingle (Bob); grandchildren, Nicole Satterfield, Jacob Koressel (Samantha), Mallory Schweikhart (Daniel), and Logan Koressel; great grandchildren, Parker, Owen, Aiden, Ella, Blaykely, Axel, Beau, and Cruz; mother of his children and first wife, Carol Ann Wagner; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Linus is preceded in death by his wife, Beverly R. (Roth) Koressel; second wife, Joyce M. (Ayers) Koressel; infant brother, Leo Jr.; brothers, Clarence Koressel and Alvin Koressel; sisters, Irene Keil, Sister Kathryn Koressel, Marie Gentry, and Agnes Sammet; grandson, Blake Horton; and son-in-law, Denver Robinson.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville, IN, with Pastor Ron David officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Boonville, IN.
Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time, Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
