Lloyd met Mildred through the Rural Youth Organization and later became a youth advisor for them in the 1960s and 70s, and he accompanied young members on trips as chaperones. He was inducted in the Warrick County Agriculture Hall of Fame in 2019. He loved to travel, and in his motorhome, he visited every state in America.
