Luella F. (Shadowen) Chandler

Luella F. (Shadowen) Chandler, age 84, of Newburgh, IN, passed away at 1:50 p.m. on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at Golden Living – Woodlands.

Luella was born June 15, 1937, in Crittenden County, KY, to William E. and Vera (Polk) Shadowen. She attended Crittenden County High School and was a faithful member of Vann Avenue Baptist Church since 1970 where she served as a Messenger for the Southern Baptist Conventions. Luella enjoyed fishing and gardening, and she especially loved her grandkids.

Luella is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Winfred “Bud” Chandler; daughter, Regina Chandler Akin (James); sister, Jean Shadowen; brother, Rudy Shadowen; grandchildren, Jason Marfilius (Lynsey) and Kelsey Marfilius; and great grandchildren, Anniston Marfilius and Cruz Marfilius.

Luella is preceded in death by her parents, William and Vera Shadowen; sister, Sue Shadowen; and brother, Ralph Shadowen.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 22, 2021, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Reverend Dr. Larry Lewis officiating.
