Obituary

M. Imogene (Stewart) Lutz, 96, went to be with the lord on 6/11/2021. She was born on December 29, 1924 to William and Isabella (Nau) Stewart.

Imogene received her education in Evansville, graduating from Central High School in 1944. She worked at Charles Leich & Co., The Baby Shop, Vanderburgh Abstract, Bucyrus-Erie, Southern IN. Scale, State Farm Insurance and Pearl Cleaners & Laundry. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church and the US Sunday School Class from 1945 until her death. She also attended the North Side Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ, where her parents and sister and brother-in-law pastored for many years.

Her love was really for the Historic Santa Claus Campground where she planned senior adult retreats for 25 years, volunteered as a counselor, worked in the kitchen, and served on the Trust & Corporation as a member. She also served as a sponsor and planned meals for the annual golf scramble fundraiser. She also was a member and worked for the CAJE organization.

Imogene was preceded in death by her father and mother, William W. Stewart and Isabella (Nau) Stewart; her husband of 41 years, Morris Lutz; brothers and sisters-in-law, William W. (Beaton) Stewart (Jr.) and Donald C. (Ruth) Stewart; sister and brother-in-law, Ruth (Stewart) (Rev. Charles) Gordon; nephew Bruce Stewart.

Survivors include a daughter, Marsha S. (Lutz) (Darrell) Goldsmith-Wilson; a son, Gary W. (Joan) Lutz; two grandsons, Mark D. (Julie) Lutz of Evansville, IN and John G. (Bree) Lutz of Owensboro, KY; six great-grandchildren, Lilly Martin of Newburgh, IN., Sophia Lutz, Zayla Porter and Jude Lutz of Owensboro, KY., Lorelei Long and Raymond Lutz of Evansville, IN.; and cousins, and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit from 11:00 to 2:00 on Tuesday 6/15/2021 at Boone Funeral Home – East Chapel, 5300 Washington Ave., followed by a short service at Boone Funeral Home.

The family would like to thank Dr. Karl Sash and his staff as well as the staff at Solarbron Terrace for everything they have done for our mother.
