Mada "Sue" (Cullen) Harkins

Mada “Sue” (Cullen) Harkins, age 87, of Evansville, IN, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at home, surrounded by her family.

Sue was born January 2, 1935, in Providence, KY, to Thomas Cullen and Beatrice (Montgomery) Cullen. She graduated from Dawson Springs High School. Sue was a former member of American Baptist East and currently a member of Vann Avenue Baptist Church. She worked for the Office of Personnel Management administering the ASVAB tests for the military, and she and her husband, Harold, owned and locally operated Town and Country Realtors before retiring in 2001. Sue was a Past Matron of Order of the Eastern Star, Past Royal Matron of Amaranth, a member of Daughters of the Nile, and was president of the Home Ett home extension club. She also enjoyed participating in a local breakfast club with several friends, including her close friend of 65+ years, Betty Youngs.

Sue is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Harkins Chase; sister, Velma Adams; several nieces and nephews; her beloved dog, Molly; and grand-dog, Minnie.

Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Beatrice Cullen; and beloved husband of 63 years, Harold Wayne Harkins, who passed away in 2015.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Reverend Dr. Larry Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville, KY.

Friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 21, 2022, and from 9:00 am until time of service, Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
