Majasca "Jackie" (Haner) Cobb

Majasca “Jackie” (Haner) Cobb, age 95, of Evansville, IN, passed on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at The Village at Hamilton Pointe.

Jackie was born November 4, 1928, in Webster County, KY, to the late Simon and Beulah (Mabrey) Haner.

Jackie was a homemaker while her children were young, then decided to work outside the home. She was employed for 37 years at Brackett Heating and Air. She was very involved in her church where she taught Sunday School, and sang in the choir. She was blessed to have traveled out of the country, and also made two trips to the Holy Land. Her love for sewing brought her great joy, along with making many quilts with her family. In the summer months, she also enjoyed gardening and canning.

Jackie is survived by her daughter, Lana Lockhart (Dennis); son, Donald Cobb (Patricia); sisters, Edith Cowan, Patsy Shoulders and Rayma Sheridan; and grandchildren, Sara Cobb, Tara Cobb, Kristina Lockhart and many nieces and nephews.

Jackie is preceded in death by her loving husband of 71 years, Hurshel Cobb; infant son, Darrin Lee Cobb; and sisters, Evelyn Railey, Mary Ollie Heck and Jonell West.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, May 3, 2024, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Steve Schwambach and Pastor Dave Schwambach officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until service time, Friday, May 3, 2024, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
