Margaret A. "Peggy" Mahannah Obituary

Margaret A. “Peggy” Mahannah, age 72, of Evansville, IN, went home to be with the Lord after gracefully fighting a long battle with cancer on Thursday, January 21, 2021, at Golden Living Center – Woodlands in Newburgh, IN.

Peggy was born December 28, 1948, in Watertown, NY, to E. Alan Mahannah, Jr. and Helen E. (Travers) Mahannah. She graduated from Gross Pointe High School in Michigan in 1967 and earned her Biblical Counseling Degree from Illinois Christian College in Peoria, IL. Peggy was a member of New Horizon Fellowship Church of God and was a past member of Christian Fellowship Church. She worked in Home Health as a Care Missionary, previously worked as a housekeeper and in security at CFC, and was chef for various Christian communities. She loved the Lord, was passionate about her relationship with Jesus Christ, and was of the Spirit-filled Christian Faith. Her life was illuminated by that fact. Peggy was an avid reader of her Bible and freely distributed Bibles to numerous people. She had a very giving heart and was an intercessory prayer warrior. Peggy was a thinker and a Christian apologist. She was an exquisite cook, had an amazing green thumb, was a horse, dog, and cat fancier since she was very young, was a writer, and enjoyed watching movies, singing, playing the piano and reading.

Peggy is survived by her brother, Larry Mahannah (Gina); sisters, Kathy Mahannah and Beth Cornelius (Tim); nieces and nephews, Allison, Thatcher, Kelly, Bob, Patrick, and Jeffery; great nieces, McKenna, Lana; and nephew, Everett; close friends, Linda and Tom Berry, Kitsy James, and Tom Bozikis.

Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, E. Alan and Helen Mahannah; and grandparents, Everett and Alice Mahannah and Howard and Helen Travers.
