Maria Justina Garcia Rivera

Maria Justina Garcia Rivera, age 74, of Evansville, IN, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at home with her family by her side.

Maria was born September 18, 1949, in El Rodeo (Acámbaro, Guanajuato) Mexico, to Melesio Garcia and Juana Rivera. She was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed doing needlepoint in her younger years. Maria loved her family most of all and enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandkids.

Maria is survived by her husband of 55 years, Santiago Yanez; children, Melesio Yanez (Jennifer), José Yanez (Adela), Carmen Perez (Gelesio), Gloria Yanez (José), Cecelio Yanez, Antonia Yanez (Necel), Amelia Ray (Larry), Justina Yanez (Octaviano), Noe Yanez, Bernabe Yanez (Silvia), Santiago Yanez (Guadalupe), and Carlos Yanez (Brandi); 32 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Leticia Garcia (Juan) and Dolores Garcia; brothers, Antonio Garcia and Bernabe Garcia; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Maria is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Irma Garcia and Macaria Garcia; and brother, Ismael Garcia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6:00 p.m. CST, Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville, with Father Martin Estrada officiating. Burial will be Private.

Friends may visit from 1:00 p.m. until service time CST, Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
