Marilyn (Wooley) Bischoff, age 95, of Evansville, IN passed away Friday, January 17, 2025, at the Evansville Protestant Home.
Marilyn was born May 7, 1929, in Evansville, to Thomas and Lettie (Buttrum) Wooley. She graduated from Reitz High School in 1947. She married her husband, Richard, in 1950, and they enjoyed 67 years together until Richard passed away in 2018. She was very active in raising her three children and involved in many community activities.
In 1997, she and her husband retired to Cherokee Village, Arkansas where they enjoyed their lakeside home for 27 years. During her time in Cherokee Village, Marilyn was involved in the Sharp County Literacy Guild where she was Vice Chairman and Chairman. She taught young people and adults how to read. While serving as chairman, she and her team won the honor of Literacy Guild of Arkansas. She also led the effort to build a new library in the small village of Williford, Arkansas.
Marilyn is survived by her sons, Tod Bischoff (Mary) and Brad Bischoff (Terri); and sister, Janet Riesterer.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Bischoff; daughter, Sue Ann Demoss; and brothers, Tom Wooley and Bob Wooley.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 27, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Dan Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 9:30 a.m. until service time, Monday, January 27, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
