Marilyn Noah-McGinnis Obituary

Marilyn Young Noah-McGinnis, age 80, passed away on May 10, 2026, at North River Health Campus.

Marilyn was born November 5, 1945, in Orange, California, to Stuart and Gladys (Gaither) Noah. She was a past member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church. Marilyn graduated from Stephens College and later earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Evansville. Throughout her career, she held many positions including assistant buyer for Baynham’s Shoes, linguist for Head Start, teacher at St. Mary’s Elementary School, Regional Director for Alloy Incorporated, the Associate Director of Admissions at the University of Evansville, and Senior Marketing Associate for Carnegie Communications. Marilyn also enjoyed painting and fishing.

Marilyn is survived by her niece, Jilli Noah-Worth (Marty); great-niece, Mia Worth; nephew, Fred Scott Noah; and brother in law, Bradley McGinnis (Nancy).

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 34 years, Alan “Smithy” McGinnis; and her brother, Scott Reynolds Noah.

Celebration of Life will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville, IN with Pastor Steve Clayton officiating.

Friends may visit from 11:30 a.m. until time of service, Thursday, May 21, 2026 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home.
