Marketa Dawn Chesnut

Marketa Dawn Chesnut, age 20, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 13, 2021.

Marketa was born December 29, 2000, in Bedford, IN, to Melissa (James) Rhodes and Bret Chesnut. She graduated from North High School in 2019 where she was a member of the Color Guard and played the cello in the orchestra. She went on to earn her certification as a Nursing Assistant, and she most recently worked for Vuteq Indiana. Marketa loved animals and horseback riding. She especially loved spending time with her son, Samuel.

Marketa is survived by her son, Samuel Chesnut; mother and stepfather, Melissa and Matthew Rhodes; sisters, Kara Blue, Alicia Crouch, Daphne Helmbrecht, Autumn Jones; brothers, Dahlante James, Braden Rhodes, William Rhodes, Michael Rhodes, Jedediah Chesnut, Christopher Daugherty, Dakota Ritchey, Cecil Chesnut, Forest Chesnut, Briar Chesnut, and Gabriel Digue; boyfriend, Brandon Moore; grandparents on both sides; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Marketa is preceded in death by her grandmother, Mary James; and cousins, Eddie Santos and Nevaeh Tonyan.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Tom Watson officiating. A Live Stream will be available beginning twenty minutes prior to the service time.
