Martha Lou (Nelson) McCollum, age 85, of Evansville, IN, passed away Thursday, July 3, 2025, at her home surrounded by family.
Martha was born January 19, 1940, in Bremen, KY, to Felix and Mary (Vincent) Nelson. She was a member of Wesleyan Methodist Church. Martha touched so many peoples lives in so many ways.
Martha is survived by her daughters, Donna Keil (Doug), Deborah Hilgeman (Richard), and Sharon Bullington (Richard); son, Donald Shane McCollum; son in law, Keith Hermayer; brother, Larry Nelson; grandchildren, Brad Hilgeman, Andy Hilgeman, Mary Ann Martin, Samantha Small, Joe Bullington, Amanda Bonham, Ayanna Coates, AJ Coates, Zachary Hermayer, Jared Hermayer, and Lindsay Hermayer; 20 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; and special nephews, Chris McCollum and Don Ed McCollum
Martha is preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Mary Nelson; loving husband of 54 years, Donald C. McCollum; daughter, Kimberly Hermayer; and 9 siblings.
Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Monday, July 7, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Reverend Marion Brown officiating. Burial will be private.
Friends may visit from 2:00 p.m. until service time, Monday, July 7, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
