Mary B. (Miller) Egerton, age 90, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 12:33 a.m. on Sunday, January 15, 2023, at her birth place surrounded by her loved ones.
Mary was born July 3, 1932, in Hardy, AR, to Errett and Dona A. Faye (Williams) Miller. She graduated from Hardy High School in 1950. After graduation, she moved to Owensboro, KY with friends to work for General Electric. She married her husband of 57 years, Richard, who she met through mutual church friends. They started their family in Owensboro before moving to Evansville, where Mary worked full time in the home. She was a long-time member of Washington Avenue Church of Christ, where she taught Bible class for three-year-old children for many years. Mary enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens and sewing, but gained the greatest joy when she was with her family.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Gail Egerton Sharp (Hubert); sons, Tim Egerton (Rhonda) and Doug Egerton (Cindy); sisters, Georgia Hensley and Reba Miller; grandchildren, Ben Egerton (Sandy), Timothy Egerton, Jr. (Trista), Brian Egerton (Haley), Nichole Egerton Guthrie (Justin), and Cody Sharp; and five great grandchildren.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Egerton; sister, Lula Lute; and grandson, Cameron L. Sharp.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 20, 2023, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Alan Bush officiating.
Friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 19, 2023, and from 9:00 a.m. until service time, Friday, January 20, 2023, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. CST, Saturday, January 21, 2023, in Walker Cemetery in Hardy, AR.
