Mary Ellen (Ernspiger) Gulledge

Mary Ellen (Ernspiger) Gulledge, age 89, of Evansville, IN, passed peacefully at 9:22 p.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at North River Health Campus with family by her side.

Mary was born September 6, 1933, in Evansville, IN, to Richard and Ellen (Wilhelmus) Ernspiger. She graduated from Central High School in 1951. Mary has been a member of First Baptist Church since 1945. She was a dental assistant for Dr. Damm where she met the love of her life, Frank Gulledge. They were married 68 years before his passing in October of 2022.

Mary was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and will be greatly missed. She was an excellent baker and made delicious desserts. She also was a fantastic seamstress.

Mary is survived by daughter, Beth Kinney (Wayne); brother, Dick Ernspiger (Eole); grandchildren, Jeff Kinney (Lindsey) and Julie Burczyk (Ryan); great grandchildren Whitney, Allison, Andrew, and Brooklyn.

Mary is proceeded in death by her parents, Richard and Ellen Ernspiger; sisters, Patty Pavey, Bettye Kimmel, and Joan Ernspiger; and husband, Frank Gulledge.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 13, 2023, at Blue Grass Church – Chapel Campus, 14200 Petersburg Road, Evansville with Pastor Doug Heiman officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until time of service, Monday, March 13, 2023, at Blue Grass Church – Chapel Campus.
