Mary Jane (Gaffney) Decker

Mary Jane Decker, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 1:50 a.m., Saturday, July 16, 2022, in Evansville, IN, at her home.

She was born on July 21, 1940 in Evansville, Indiana, to Adrian and Edna (Griess) Gaffney. Mary Jane was a 1958 graduate of North High School.  She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family.  Mary Jane was past President of the Ladies Auxiliary of No Ruz Grotto, and a member of River Bend Auxiliary and Daughters of the Nile, #41.

Mary Jane is survived by her loving husband of fifty years, Lanny Decker.  She is also survived by her daughter, Nancy (John) Claspell; son, Kirk (Jill) Rager; sister, Gloria (Dr. Joe) Emerson; grandchildren, Scott Claspell, Hayden Rager, Samantha Claspell, Riley Jarboe-Decker, Avery Decker and Piper Rager and five great-children.

She is preceded in death by her parents and sons, Brian Decker, who passed away in 2020 and Michael Alan Rager, who passed away in 1961.

Funeral Services and Burial will be private at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 318 Main St. Evansville, IN, 47708, in honor of her son Brian Decker.
