Maurice Eugene Weber, age 84, of Newburgh, Indiana, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025, at St. Vincent Ascension – Evansville.
Maurice was born April 3, 1940, in Chrisney, Indiana, to Leo Thomas and Anna Mae (Ballman) Weber. Maurice graduated from Chrisney High School in 1957 and then joined the United States Army, serving for a time in Germany. He came home and started working for Eastern Airlines in Chicago, moving over the years with his family to a number of cities after meeting the love of his life, Mary Catherine Mabee, in Atlanta in 1962. He went to college on the GI Bill and earned his private pilot’s license. His love of aviation and travel was exceeded by his love of family and his faith.
Maurice is survived by his daughters, Anna Byars (Kelly) and Maureen Stevens (Glenn); son, Scott Weber (Viola); grandchildren, Ryan Stevens, Neal Stevens, Erin Stevens, Maggie Byars, Jack Byars, and Caitie Byars; brothers Leon Weber, Norman Weber (Ruth), and Carroll Weber (Linda), and sister Roberta White (John); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Maurice is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Martha Tomes, and brothers Tom Weber and Clarence Weber; and loving wife of 58 years, Mary Catherine Mabee Weber.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2025, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 625 Frame Rd., Newburgh, IN, with Father Dusty Burns officiating. Entombment will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Mausoleum.
Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time, Saturday, March 8, 2025, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
