Michael Ray Cartwright

Michael Ray Cartwright, age 50, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 7, 2021, at home.

Michael was born, January 22, 1971, in Evansville, IN, to Henry Bean Cartwright and Ora (McNeal) Cartwright. He graduated from F.J. Reitz High School in 1990. Michael was a manager at the Schnucks on North Green River Rd for several years. Michael had a deep love for his family and friends. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Michael was a happy, kind and caring person. He was always there when you needed him. He was loved by everyone who knew him and will be dearly missed.   

Michael is survived by his daughters, Darian Cartwright, Jaslyn Cunningham (D’Romeo), Jayden Cartwright; son, Devon Cartwright; 4 grandchildren, Zayla and Zendaya Cunningham, Kayden Cartwright, and Jo’Siyah Cartwright; sisters, Carla Cartwright, Tamara Outlaw (Bill), Crystal Cartwright; brothers, Gary Cartwright, Sr., Thomas Cartwright (Trish), David Cartwright, Johnny Cartwright, Germaine Cartwright, Sr.; long-time companion, Stephanie Basinger; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Bean and Ora Cartwright; sister, Regina Cartwright; nephew, Saxson Cartwright.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Aaron Henson officiating. A Live Stream will be available beginning twenty minutes prior to the service time.
