Michael E. Loftus

Michael E. “Mike” Loftus, age 66, of Evansville, IN, passed peacefully at 9:36 p.m. on Monday, January 18, 2021, surrounded by his family at St. Vincent Hospital.

Mike was born March 6, 1954, in Hammond, IN, to George K. Loftus and Marianne Minnette. He was a 1972 Bosse High School graduate. Mike attended One Life Church East with his daughters. He was well known in Evansville and in the Midwest for his many years of food service. Mike managed and supervised several well-known restaurants. Mike enjoyed music and being part of the local music scene.

Mike is survived by his daughters, Lori Kline (Josh Caudill), Tara Peralta (Sol), and Micah Schmitt (Bernie); sisters, Teri Breivogel (Michael), Lisa Loftus (Mary K. Elliott), and Georgette Loftus and; grandchildren, Alex Kline, Grace Fuller, Wes Fuller, Ethan Fuller, Isaac Schmitt, Eliana Schmitt, and Roman Schmitt; and many nieces and nephews.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents, George and Marianne; and his brother, Patrick Osborne Loftus.

Private Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 22, 2021, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Michael Carron and Matt Breivogel officiating. A Live Stream will be available beginning twenty minutes prior to the service time.
