Michael Melvin Brown, age 82, of Evansville, IN passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at Heart to Heart Hospice House.
Michael was born on June 13, 1943, to parents, John Ray and Mary Louella Brown. He was a graduate of North High School where he played football. He later went on to work for the Whirlpool Corporation for 40+ years until his retirement. In his spare time, Michael really enjoyed traveling. He went from coast to coast throughout the years, visiting all of God’s beautiful creation. Above all else, Michael loved his family.
He is survived by his long-time companion Janice Hammersley, his two sons Timothy Brown (Michelle) and Mark Brown (Wendy), 6 grandchildren, Caleb, Aaron, Joshua, Jonathan, Emma and Levi; 11 great grandchildren, Evangelina, Haley, Hazel, Adaline, Jack, David, Clara, Remy, Waylon, Ronin, and Ezariah; 2 brothers, Daniel Brown and Scott Brown (Kerri); 2 sisters, Lynn Brown and Susan Hodges; and sister-in-law, Jackie Brown.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John Ray Brown, Jr., Ron Lee Brown, Jeffrey Allen Brown, Trent Brown, and infant brother, Mark Brown; and sisters, Beverly Jean Orth, Carolyn Sue Brown, Nancy Brown.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, November 7, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville, IN, with Pastor Kris Holzmeyer officiating. Burial will be Private.
Friends may visit from 1:00 p.m. until time of service, Friday, November 7, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
