Milton "Pete" Zinn Obituary

Milton “Pete” Zinn, age 93, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 8:13 a.m. Sunday, February 11, 2024, at home surrounded by family.

Pete was born October 24, 1930, in Evansville, IN, to the late John and Ethel (Holland) Zinn. He graduated from Central High School in 1949. Pete proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church since 1979. Pete retired from Industrial Contractors, Inc. in 1990, after 35 years of service as the Head of Mechanical Contracting Estimating. He was a member with the Scottish Rite, Mason with Blue Lodge 316, River Bend Association and Kentucky Colonels, and was on the director’s staff at Hadi Shrine Temple. Pete was an avid golfer and talented painter, with his home decorated with his artwork. He had the privilege of participating in an Honor Flight in 2021.

Pete is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Dorothy (Giolitto) Zinn; children by marriage, Charlie Goebel (son in law), Donna J. King (Chicago), David King (Donna Kay) and Denise Greenwell (Louie); grandchildren, Peter Hassel, Heather Nickel, Brooke King, Jordan Greenwell, April Jung, Trent Cokley, JP Greenwell and Jason Greenwell; 14 great grandchildren; and he was very close with his nieces and nephews, Gay Arrick, Johnny Hubbard, Jack Horstketter and Peggy Stephans.

Pete is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Theresa “Terry” Goebel; sisters, Stella Horstketter and Mamie Hubbard; and brothers, Claude Zinn and Roy Zinn.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 16, 2024, at Heritage Chapel at Memorial Park Mausoleum, 2200 Mesker Park Drive, Evansville, IN 47720, with Reverend Kaitlin Moore officiating.

Friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel and from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Friday, February 16, 2024 at Memorial Park Mausoleum.
