Monetta S. (Wright) Ohl, age 81, of Newburgh, IN, passed away at 3:45 a.m. on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital.
Monetta was born August 4, 1941, in Paducah, KY, to Roy Everett Wright and Glenna Ruby (Butterfield) Meiring. She graduated from Bosse High School in 1959. Monetta was a faithful member of Townsend Bible Church in Newburgh for many years where she served as an AWANA Leader. She was also a member of the Chandler Saddle Club and the Hoosier Trailblazers. Monetta enjoyed cross stitching, sewing, and reading, and she especially loved spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren’s activities.
Monetta is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Danny Ohl; daughters, Kristi Horton (John) of Evansville, IN, and Shelia Fletcher (Rick) of Boonville, IN; grandchildren, Brad Horton (Brooke), Danielle Meyer (Bradley), Dillon Horton (Christa) and Camren Fletcher; great grandson, Hayes Horton; cousin, Wanda and John Montgomery; niece, Darla Jo Derigo (Dusty); great niece, Tarona Siqua; and several great nephews.
Monetta is preceded in death by her parents, Roy Wright and Glenna Meiring; Elva Wright; and sister, Yvonne Burton.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville, IN, with Pastor Mike Ward officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Newburgh, IN.
Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until service time, Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
