Nancy Kaye Horton, 63, of Evansville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Heart to Heart Hospice House. Honoring her wishes, Nancy generously donated her body to Anatomical Education Program at Indiana University.
Nancy was born December 13, 1961 to Robert Lee Horton and Jo Ann (VanBibber), in Evansville, Indiana.
Nancy attended Bosse High School and was a part of the Class of 1980. She was a woman of many talents and interests. Nancy loved fishing, cooking, and painting, and she had a creative spirit that shone through in all she did. She enjoyed making homemade candies, soaps, and dog treats, and she had a knack for finding beauty in nature—collecting rocks and driftwood wherever she went. Nancy never met a stranger; her warmth and humor drew people to her, and she made friends everywhere.
Over the years, Nancy worked as a bartender at several establishments around the Evansville area, where she was known for her friendly smile and kind heart.
Nancy will be remembered for her creativity, generosity, and the joy she brought to everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her daughters, Sheena Hunter (Nick Rainey) and Cheyenne Miller (Joseph Maynard) of Evansville; siblings, Karen Davis (Michael) of Evansville, David Horton (Gloria) of Newburgh, IN, Susan Hardin (Brian) of Evansville; brother-in-law, Bill Titzer of Evansville; grandchildren, Micah, Jack, Lincoln and Holland Hunter; aunt, Beverly Marshall of Greensburg, IN; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lee Horton and Jo Ann (VanBibber); brother, Bobby Horton; and sisters, Terri Tompkins and Cheryl Titzer.
