Nora Lou (Heacker) McFadden, born January 3, 1941, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and devoted Christian passed away February 9, 2026 at Heart to Heart Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana.
Nora was born in Oliver Springs, Tennessee to Herman and Fay (Ellis) Heacker. She graduated from Alcoa High School in Alcoa, Tennessee and attended Southeast Missouri State University, Cape Girardeau, Missouri where she met her husband of 61 years, Glennon, who adored her immeasurably. Nora and Glennon married April 18, 1964. Following college, Nora taught in the Cape Girardeau Public School System where she served as teaching assistant to students with learning disabilities. Her love for her work was exemplified by the many students she guided to successful vocations. Upon retirement from public education, she spent her remaining years devoted to her children and grandchildren. Her favorite pastimes were traveling across the country with her husband on motorcycle, family outings in the Smoky Mountains, spending time with the grandchildren and “snowbird” winter vacations in Florida. Nora was cherished and admired by all who knew her.
Nora loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Crossroads Christian Church where she participated in the church’s Bible Study Group.
Nora is survived by her devoted husband, Glennon McFadden; children, Michael McFadden and Jeffrey McFadden (Amanda); grandchildren, Molly, Collin, Grace, Lindsey, and Jordan McFadden; sister, Janet Fish (Edward); and brother, Herman Heacker, III.
Nora is preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Faye Heacker; and grandsons, Joshua McFadden and Aidan McFadden.
