Norma Brenton Obituary

Norma Lee (Barnett) Brenton, age 93, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 11:45 p.m. on Sunday, October 31, 2021, at River Pointe Health Campus.

Norma was born July 1, 1928, in Winslow, IN, to Ottis and Delma (Abell) Barnett. She worked as a Press Operator, Tester, and Adjustor for Potter and Brumfield before retiring after 28 years of service. She worked on the high-performance micro relays for the United States Missile Program for astronaut space shots. Norma was a member of a Church of Christ Church since she was 13 years old and was an active member of Washington Avenue Church of Christ since 1998 where she enjoyed volunteering and traveling across the United States with the Sojourner Group. Norma was a member of the Red Hat Society, and she enjoyed quilting, knitting, and crocheting. She loved working in her flower and vegetable gardens and playing games, especially Bingo.

Norma is survived by her daughter, Karen Parke (Wayne); son, Larry Brenton (Sue); sister, Shila Haley (Doyne); grandchildren, Timothy Wayne Parke (Libby) and Andrea Hartman; and great grandchildren, Kirsten, Skylar, Keaton, and Kaylee.

Norma is preceded in death by her parents, Ottis and Delma Barnett; husband Buthyl “Adrian” Brenton, who passed away in 2004; and brothers, Lyndal Barnett and Lowell Barnett.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Alan Bush officiating.
