Paul Alan Klingelhoefer, age 85, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 12:10 p.m. on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at Bethel Manor.
Paul was born June 6, 1938, in Evansville, IN, to Christoph G. Klingelhoefer and Lucy Ethel (Coffman) Klingelhoefer. He graduated from Central High School. Paul was a truck driver with the Local Teamsters Union #215 for over 17 years. He worked for Comaier Services for 12 years, Hardy Brake, Pocket Beverage as a mechanic and beer truck driver, and he also owned his own shop. Paul later worked as an engineer for Koelin Industries, designing specialty equipment. He was a long-time member of the Evansville Songfellows Barbershop Chorus, and he won Barbershopper of the Year award more than once. Paul was in a comedy quartet, the Titanics. He was also a Scoutmaster for inner city boys at Glenwood School, who won a number of awards. Paul was a beloved father.
Paul is survived by his daughters, Terri Klingelhoefer (Chris Engle) and Lucy Zahnle; son, Brian Klingelhoefer; sister, Doris Rohlfer; grandchildren, Gretchen (Zahnle) Crowder, Christopher and Wolf Zahnle, Lindsey Fields, and Matthew Klingelhoefer; and several great grandchildren.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Wilda L. (Reynolds) Klingelhoefer, who passed away in 1984; second wife of 35 years, Olgia “Kay” (Trice), who passed away in 2009; sister, Louise Jandebeur; brothers, John Klingelhoefer, Carl Kling, and Kenny Klingelhoefer; son in law, Vince Zahnle; and grandson, Nicholas Zahnle.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Kris Holzmeyer officiating. Burial will be in Locust Hill Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 22, 2023, and from 9:00 a.m. until service time, Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:45 p.m., Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Golden Corral Buffet & Grill, 130 Cross Pointe Blvd, Evansville, IN 47715.
