Paul Brian Cosby, age 78, of Newburgh, IN, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at home, surrounded by his family.
Brian was born August 2, 1944, in Washington, IN, to the late Chester Paul Cosby and Mary Lou (Ruble) Cosby. He graduated from Washington High School in 1962 and was of the Baptist faith. Brian was a Veteran in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion Kapperman Post 44. He owned and operated Cosby Custom Gunsmithing in Chandler, IN, for over 35 years. Brian loved spending time at the Evansville Gun Club, Red Brush Rifle Range, and Isaak Walton Gun Club. He never met a stranger, and was known for his big smile. Brian enjoyed reading, grilling, fishing, shooting, working on guns, and was a Civil War History Buff.
Brian is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Diane (Burress) Cosby; sons, Michael Wade (Julie), Christopher Wade, M.D., and Joel Cosby; brother, Bart Cosby (Pam); grandchildren, Emily Hayes (Matt), Katelyn Wade, Jackson Wade, and Samuel Wade; and niece and nephew, Lana Cosby-Jones and Todd Cosby.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. EST / 1:00 p.m. CST, Sunday, August 28, 2022, at Washington Conservation Club, 350 West 150 South, Washington, IN, with Reverend Brad Rainey officiating. Burial will be Private.
A Second Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. EST / 12:00 p.m. CST, Saturday, September 17, 2022, at the Wayne Township Lions Club, 11940 East 191st Street, Noblesville, IN, with Reverend Brad Rainey officiating. Burial will be Private.
