Paula J. (Craddock) Childs

Paula J. (Craddock) Childs, age 74, of Boonville, IN, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital – Newburgh.

Paula was born February 15, 1949, in Evansville, IN, to Cantrell and Lou Jean (Watson) Craddock. She graduated from Harrison High School in 1967 and earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Purdue University. Paula taught school in Chicago and later worked for AT&T as a Technician in the Central Office for several years before retiring in 2006. She attended Central United Methodist Church and was a past member of Fresh Start Mennonite Chapel in Washington, IN. In her spare time, she was passionate about researching and compiling her family genealogy.

Paula is survived by her brother-in-law, Randy Shoemaker; nieces, Lisa Shoemaker (Jeffry Proudfoot) and Lauren Heim (Mark); and great-nieces, Annie and Leah Heim.

Paula is preceded in death by her parents, Cantrell and Lou Jean Craddock; sister, Sondra Shoemaker; and son, Matthew Elliott Childs.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, August 21, 2023, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Reverend Virlin Yoder officiating. Burial will be in Locust Hill Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Monday, August 21, 2023, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
