Phyllis M. (Shields) Cummings

Phyllis M. (Shields) Cummings, age 72, of Newburgh, IN, passed away Friday, November 7, 2025, at Heart to Heart Hospice House.

Phyllis was born March 30, 1953, in Evansville, IN, to Edward and Virginia (Ball) Shields. She graduated from Boonville High School in 1971. Phyllis served in the United States Army for 4 years. She was an extremely talented painter and especially loved acrylics. She enjoyed watching Bob Ross and Hallmark movies.

Phyllis is survived by her father, Edward Shields; daughter, Alesia Flint (Chris); son, Sean Cummings; sisters, Betty Sims (Scott) and Diane Retter (Donnie); brothers, Mike Shields (Sherri Steapleton) and Kenny Shields (Jeri); and grandson, Xander Flint.

Phyllis is preceded in death by her mother; Virginia (Ball) Shields.

Funeral Services will be held at a later date. Burial will be Private.
