Raymond W. Akin

Raymond W. Akin, age 55, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 12:54 a.m. on Saturday, April 24, 2021, at Deaconess Gateway in Newburgh, IN.

Raymond was born March 21, 1966, in Columbus, IN to Harold and Alice Akin. He graduated from Bosse High School in 1984 and continued his education earning several masters degrees. He attended Waters Edge Church in Henderson, KY. He was an ordained minister and was in retail management. He loved hanging out with his grandchildren, singing and listening to music. Raymond also loved song lyrics and movie quotes of any kind.

Raymond is survived by his mother, Alice (Coomer) Akin; Daughters, Kathrine (Greg) Wall, Kaycee (Travis) Hawkins; Son, Austin (Tamara) Akin; Brother, James (Regina) Akin; grandchildren, Olivia, Ella Jane, Penelope, Raylee, Leo, Bentley, Kyleigh, Avery.

Raymond is preceded in death by his father, Harold W. Akin.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Ron Osborn officiating. Burial will private.

Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 27, 2021 until time of service at BOONE FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL.
