Raymond M. “Mike” Winters, age 71, of Evansville, IN, passed peacefully and went home to the Lord on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at home with his wife by his side.
Mike was born December 9, 1950, in Evansville, IN, to Raymond L. Winters and Wanda S. “Sue” (Wilson) Winters. He was a 1969 graduate of Bosse High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Mike retired in 2013 from the Evansville Police Department after 32 years of service. He also worked as a Security Guard at the Social Security Administration Office. Mike was a devoted member of First Christian Church in Evansville. He enjoyed serving in various ministries. Mike was a loving son, husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Mike is survived by his mother, Sue Winters; his loving wife of 48 years, Donna (Sellers) Winters; daughter, Julie Corbin (Kevin); son, Ryan Winters; sister, Linda Winters; brothers, Daniel “Dan” Winters (Kathy), and Randy Winters (Debbie); grandchildren, Lily and Lela Corbin, and Eleana, Ryder and Rylan Winters; several nieces and nephews.
Mike is preceded in death by his father, Raymond L. Winters; brother, Rickey Winters; and infant sister, Sharon Winters.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Jerry Clark officiating. Friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 3, 2022, with a 6:00 p.m. Marine Corps League Pinning Ceremony. Service visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service begins, Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
