Faith, family and friends, music and writing were important to Reba “Lois” Kellough O’Nan.
Reba Lois Kellough O’Nan was born November 5, 1937, in Henderson County, KY near Corydon, Kentucky to James Womack Kellough and Frances Berry. She died peacefully at home on Monday, February 16, 2026.
Lois was known for her musical ability and love of writing, as her mother was before her. Even as a child, Lois would write stories and take them to school where they were eagerly read by her classmates. She loved to show her mother’s books of stories, memoirs and humorous cartoons to visiting friends. Lois was a good story writer herself and was recognized nationally in a micro fiction story contest by Dandelion Press for one of her submissions, honorable mention.
Lois’ musical talents were recognized at an early age and the minister of her home church, Corydon Christian Church, bought her a piano with accompanying piano lessons a few years after her father’s death from a house fire.
In return, Lois played the piano and organ in the church for many years. She was also a Kentucky state officer as Grand Organist for The Order of the Eastern Star (EOS) and enjoyed traveling in this capacity.
In addition, Lois played the piano or organ in some capacity for every church she attended throughout the years, until retirement in Newburgh, Indiana. She was a member of Crossroads Christian Church during retirement.
Lois is survived by her husband of 68 years Dorris William “Pup” O’Nan; two sons, Stephen Bradley (LaDona) of Louisville, Tennessee, David Alan (Jenny), of Fort Wayne, Indiana; one daughter, Cathy Lynn Titzer (Joe), of Evansville Indiana; 6 grandchildren, Mindy Blankenship (Jason), Emily Galyon (Eric), Eric O’Nan (Suzanne), Stuart O’Nan (Macey), Rachel O’Nan and Jacob O’Nan; 5 great-grandchildren; a brother, Dorris Allen “Al”Kellough (Clara); and sister-in-law, Sandy Kellough.
Lois was preceded in death by her brother, James Larry (Sandy) Kellough; mother, Francis (Berry) Kellough Smith; father, James Womack Kellough; and stepfather, Calvin Smith.
