Rebecca Jean (Ryan) Hibbs, lovingly known as Becky, passed away peacefully, Friday, March 14, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born on March 9, 1947, in Evansville, Indiana.
Becky dedicated her life to caring for others, both in her professional career and personal life. She served as an Employee Health Nurse at Welborn Hospital, a job she truly loved, forming deep connections with her colleagues. She also worked at the Plasma Center, Arbor Hospital, the Alzheimer’s Unit at The Good Samaritan Home, and Deaconess Hospice, always providing compassionate care to those in need.
Becky had a gift for making connections—there wasn’t a place she went where she didn’t run into someone she knew. She participated in TOPS and several craft groups, where she shared her love of crocheting and creativity. More than anything, she was a woman of kindness and selflessness, always willing to help others without expecting anything in return. Her daughters were her greatest pride, and she devoted her life to ensuring they always felt loved and supported.
Family was at the heart of Becky’s life. She is survived by her loving daughters, Jennifer McBride (Chris) and Jamie Dyson; her cherished grandchildren, Kyle McBride, Karsyn McBride, and Taylor Dyson; and her siblings, Jack Ryan (Roxanne), Larry Ryan (Ethelda), and Robin Hileman (Dave). She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who adored her.
Becky was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mary (LaMar) Ryan.
Her legacy is one of warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.
