Regena R. "Genie" (Green) Bell

Regena R. “Genie” (Green) Bell, age 93, of Evansville, IN, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2025, at Transcendent Healthcare of Boonville.

Genie was born September 8, 1931, in Columbus, IN, to Otto and Bernice (Snyder) Green. She graduated from Bosse High School in 1949 and attended Evansville College. She was a long-time member of Bethel United Church of Christ. After 23 years of service as a Technician, Genie retired from St. Mary’s Medical Center. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and traveling.

Genie is survived by her sons, Gene Lechner (Louisa) of Chandler, IN, and Scott Lechner (Chris) of Fort Wayne, IN; daughter-in-law, Tami Lechner; and grandchildren, Gene Anthony Lechner (Tessa), Krystal Lechner (Drew Pittman), Kelsey Lechner, Taylor Lechner, and Lauren Lechner.

Genie is preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Bernice Green; loving husband of 5 years, Alfred Bell, who passed away in 1997; son, Tracy Lechner who passed away in 2021; and sister, Joan Huber; and brother, Admiral Norman Green.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Burial will be private.
