Regina Joyce (Jaquess) Garris

Regina Joyce (Jaquess) Garris, age 71, of Evansville, IN, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022, at St. Vincent Hospital Evansville.

Regina was born June 4, 1951, in Evansville, IN, to the late John Jaquess and Sybil Kaho. She attended Reitz High School and afterwards, Regina enrolled at Roger’s Hair Academy and became a licensed Cosmetologist. Regina enjoyed crocheting and attending Bible Study at CFC with her sister, Renee. She attended Vann Avenue Baptist Church. Regina loved being a wife, mother and grandmother.

Regina is survived by her loving husband of 24 years, Ricky Garris; daughter, Melitta Nelson (Zac); son, Michael Busing (Angie); stepson, Ricky Hartley; sister, Renee (Jaquess) Lynn; brother, Jim Jaquess (Karen); grandchildren, Michael Busing, Mitchell Bryant, and Warren Nelson; step-grandchildren, Joe Williams, Felicia Hartley, Ricki Hartley, and Richard Hartley; great-grandson, Chevy Busing; nieces and nephews, Stacy Garling (Chad), Kelle Schapker (Aaron), Bryan Lynn, Renee Jaquess Kelley (David), and Regina K. Jaquess.

Regina is preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial Services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Reverend Dr. Larry Lewis officiating. A Live Stream will be available beginning twenty minutes prior to the service time.
