Rev. Teddy J. "Ted" O'Dell

Rev. Teddy J. “Ted” O’Dell, age 79, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2020, at West River Health Campus.

Ted was born September 12, 1941, in Ft. Branch, IN, to Ray O’Dell and Edith “Norrington” O’Dell. He graduated from Bicknell High School in 1959 and from the Salvation Army School for Officers in Chicago, IL. Ted served as a Salvation Army officer for 30 years. He was a truck driver for Crete Trucking and an Ordained Minister. Ted enjoyed making people laugh and was an avid joke teller. He played many sports including, golfing, fishing, biking, and table tennis.  

Ted is survived by his wife of 24 years, Deborah (DeCou) O’Dell; daughter, Sharon R. Ray
(Terry); step-daughters, Shandra Murphy and Miranda Saylor; sisters, Teresa Baize and Lolita Daffron; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Ted is preceded in death by his parents and three siblings.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 17, 2020, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Jerry Daniels and Pastor Sharon Ray officiating.
