Reva Dale (Jennings) Atherton

Reva Dale (Jennings) Atherton, age 78, of Evansville, IN, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2024, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY.

Reva was born July 14, 1946, in Hopkins Co., KY, to Austin and Catherine (Webster) Jennings. She graduated from Webster County High School in 1964. She worked in Housekeeping for 10 years at Welborn Hospital and 10 years at St. Mary’s Hospital. Reva enjoyed working her word search puzzles and watching sprint car racing and the Indy 500. She loved being outside, watching the animals and tending to her flower beds. Reva especially loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Reva is survived by her children, Kristi Schmidt (Matthew), Tracy Moore (Kent), Anthony “AJ” Atherton (Jamie Stewart), Andrea Davids (Kevin), and Holly Moore (Tony); sister, Sherry Brown; brother, Glendal Jennings; grandchildren, Joseph (Emily), Jonathan (Becky), Kevin (Jasmine), Krystal (Keith), Kurt (Lexi), Michael, Danny (Rachael), Tatum, Seger, Alexis, Aiden, Hannah, Jack, Matthew, and Kolt; 9 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Reva is preceded in death by her parents, Austin and Catherine Jennings; loving husband of 55 years, James M. “Mike” Atherton; and sister, Teresa Davis.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. CST, Friday, October 18, 2024, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville, with Pastor Steve Clayton officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time CST, Friday, October 18, 2024, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
