Richard L. Basham, 65, of Evansville, died Saturday, May 27,2000, at St. Mary’s Medical Center of cancer.
He retired in 1997 after 20 years as the parking garage manager for Southern Indiana Gas & Electric Co. He had also worked with Pride Brothers Wrecker Service.
He was a 20-year member of Vann Avenue Baptist Church.
In 1977, he was awarded the Outstanding Citizens Award by the Evansville Police Department.
Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Shirley (Riley); a daughter, Cindy Kay of Evansville; a son, Jim R. of Evansville; two sisters, Norma Jean Lloyd of Maceo, Ky., and Louise Rice of Louisville, Ky.; and six grandchildren, Amanda, Christopher and Andrew Kay, Jeremy Caine and James Richard Jr. and Courtney Basham.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. Robert Nall officiating, with burial in Park Lawn Cemetery.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
