Rilda Reusch Obituary

Rilda Mae Reusch, 94 of Greenwood, Indiana formerly of Evansville passed away at 4:14pm, Friday, January 29, 2021 surrounded by her loving family at home.

Rilda was born September 7, 1926 in Uniontown, Indiana, the daughter of Dennis and Winnie (King) Underhill and was raised in Doolittle Mills, Indiana.

In Evansville, Rilda worked at Wood’s Drug Store when she met her loving husband, Floyd Reusch (WWII Veteran) and began their family. She was a wonderful stay at home wife and mother. She loved her homes which her husband Floyd had custom built for them. She enjoyed helping Floyd dig the foundations and setting the blocks in place. She loved being outdoors and tending their large vegetable gardens, and flowers were always plentiful all around their home. She loved sharing this all with her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She later was known as “Demo Lady” which she loved, passing out food samples and interacting with people at Schnucks grocery stores. She had a knack for bargain shopping and reselling “good” finds. In addition, she was an entrepreneur in what is now known as a “She Shed” using her sewing skills on curtains/drapes for resell as well as clothing and personalized pillows for loved ones. She was a member of First Christian Church in Newburgh until moving to Brownsburg.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Elmore (Dick) of Greenwood, IN, son, Dennis Reusch of Greenwood, IN, who tirelessly and lovingly cared for her after Floyd’s passing, grandchildren, Pamela Elmore (Jetta), Todd Elmore, and Lacy Negron and great-grandchildren, Isaac, Jaylynn, Peyton and Katielynn.

Rilda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Floyd Reusch, and her son Larry Reusch. All of her siblings Irene Schaaf, Ethel McNeely, Jeanette Taylor, and Roman (Wayne), Raymond, Omer, Estil, Ray, Kermit, and Clifton Underhill.

Her smile, warmth and accepting nature made her Grandma to many. Beyond Rilda’s daughter, son, and granddaughter (Pam), she was loved and cared for  by her “chosen granddaughters” Jetta Fultz, Susan Walker, Christa Carter, Reene Wood, Ronda Murphy, Stephanie Bohanon, Barbara Jackson and Cathy Schneider.
