Rita A. (Morris) Dorris

Rita A. (Morris) Dorris, age 80, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 4:54 a.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at her home with her family by her side.

Rita was born April 3, 1942, in Evansville, IN, to Charles and Cordie Morris. She graduated from Central High School in 1960 and was a member of Central United Methodist Church. Rita worked in the laundry department for St. Mary’s Hospital. She loved rabbits and was lovingly known as the “Rabbit Lady” at the Humane Society. Always the caregiver, she lovingly took care of her mother-in-law, husband, and mother.

Rita is survived by her daughters, Kim White (David) and Angie Deichman; grandchildren, Christopher Wagner (Rachel), Justin Wagner (Ashton), Tyler White, and Cody Knott; great grandchildren, Reese Wagner, Anniston Wagner, Noah Knott, Ryleigh Knott, and Vera Knott; and nephew, Chris Meier.

Rita is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Cordie Morris; husband of 28 years, Norman Grimwood; and sisters, Thelma Hill and Carol Meier.

Private Graveside Services will be held at Park Lawn Cemetery.
