Robert “Bob” Joseph Keeney, age 78, of Newburgh, Indiana, passed away suddenly on April 13, 2026, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital.
Bob was born on October 6, 1947, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Mark and Estre (Cottrell) Keeney. He graduated from Central High School in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania with a special diploma. After graduation, Bob worked as a custodian for a time in St. Augustine, Florida. Bob had many likes and interests but could better be known as a sports fanatic. He absolutely loved baseball and football. Bob also had an extensive CD collection full of music, war stories and good ‘ol westerns, John Wayne specifically. He’s been a wonderful brother and uncle.
Bob is survived by his brother, William (Nancy) Keeney; his nephews, Mark (Heidi) Keeney and Mike (Tracy) Keeney; his niece, Heather (Geoff) Belz; his great nephews, Matthew (Rachel) Keeney and James Keeney; his great nieces, Megan Keeney and Lauren (Lou) Marcinek; and great great nephew, Landyn; and great great niece, Ava Lou.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Mark and Estre.
Services for Bob will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, April 19, 2026, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church located at 301 SE First St. Evansville, Indiana 47713. Reverend Holly Rankin Zaher and Reverend William Keeney will be officiating. Burial will be in St. Augustine, Florida for the family. The family suggests to watch for the signs for parking when arriving.
