Robert E. "Bob" Summers

Robert E. “Bob” Summers, age 94, of Evansville, IN, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 19, 2021, at Good Samaritan Home.

Bob was born April 17, 1927, in Peoria, IL, to Charles Summers and Vera (Staples) Summers. After graduating from Bosse High School in 1945, Bob enlisted and served in the United States Army. He married his sweetheart, Mary Huck, on April 26, 1946. They celebrated their 75th anniversary this year in April. Bob was a Professional Barber for over 70 years. He was the first Barber at Deaconess Hospital at 1971 and worked there for over 44 years. Before barbering at Deaconess, Bob owned and operated Barber Shops at other locations in Evansville. Bob was a member of Bethel Temple

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 75 years, Mary H. (Huck) Summers; daughter, Judith Kay Summers.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Vera; and his son, Rodney Summers in 1970.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor David Schwambach officiating. Private Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. 

Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until time of service, Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at BOONE FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL.
