Robert Sumrall

Robert “Rho” Sumrall, know as “Pops” to his family, age 72, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 4:20 a.m. on Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Robert was born December 26, 1947, in Harrisonburg, LA, to Howell Sumrall and Audrey Sumrall - Hotz (Neal). He attended Harrison High School. Robert was a master mechanic and truck driver. He loved fishing, race cars and spending time with his family.  

Robert is survived by his wife of 52 years, Frieda; sons, John Sumrall (Jessica), Daniel Sumrall (Rachel), Howell I. Sumrall (Crystal Bruner); sister, Grace Toone (Jim); brothers, Kenneth Sumrall (Sandy), Howell “Pete” Sumrall (Debbie); 13 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Kevin Waters officiating.   

Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until service time, Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at BOONE FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the family to help defray funeral expenses.
