Robert "Bob" P. Brown Sr.

Robert P. “Bob” Brown, Sr., age 87, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at his home.

Bob was born on October 19, 1938, in Evansville, Indiana, to Paul and Lotus (née Simms) Brown. He graduated from Bosse High School in 1956.

Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army before beginning a lifelong career of public service. He later served the community as a police officer with the Evansville Police Department, beginning in 1964 and retiring in 1986. Following his retirement from law enforcement, Bob continued working for the City of Evansville at the city garage for seven years.

Bob is survived by his son, Eric Brown; his daughter, Rebecca Kessler; his sister, Carolyn Fessler; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents; and son, Robert P. Brown, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Chaplain Darren Sroufe officiating. Burial will follow at Park Lawn Cemetery, where military and police honors will be rendered in recognition of Bob’s honorable service to his country and his many years of dedication to protecting and serving the Evansville community.

Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until time of service, Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
