Robert “Bob” O. Kerney, age 76, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 3:01 p.m. on Monday, January 4, 2021, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital.
Bob was born July 3, 1944, in Evansville, IN to the late James O. and Eileen E. (Steinback) Kerney. He graduated from Bosse High School in 1962 and graduated from the University of Evansville with a degree in Accounting. Bob was a CPA for 40 years. He enjoyed singing in the choirs at Bethel Temple and Crossroads Church. He volunteered at Evansville Christian Life Center and helped cook meals there weekly. He served as a trustee at Bethel Temple and was on the Evansville Christian School Board. Camp Carson was a big part of Bob’s early life and later he served on their board.
Bob faithfully read his Bible every day and successfully completed the entire Bible many times. He was a great, godly example for his family through service and the modeling his life. Once he was retired, he enjoyed traveling with Bev and attending as many grandchildren activities as possible.
Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years, Beverly A. Kerney; son, Brian O. Kerney (Elle); daughter, Jennifer A. Storey; brother, William A. Kerney (Karen); and grandchildren, Joseph, Elizabeth, Alex, Adam, and Drew.
Bob is preceded in death by his brother, John A. Kerney.
Graveside Services will be Private, Thursday, January 7, 2021, at Oak Hill Cemetery with Pastor Tommy Epperson officiating.
Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 7, 2021, at BOONE FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL.
